Alexa Grambush

Alexa Grambush is a Michigan-born painter whose work is shaped by movement, place, and a reverence for the sacred in the everyday. Raised along the shores of the Great Lakes,at one point living with her sisters aboard a boat in Traverse City, she developed an early sensitivity to space, atmosphere, and relational dynamics that continues to inform her practice.

Working primarily in watercolor and acrylic, Grambush’s abstract paintings are guided by values of truth and sincerity. Her process is deeply responsive to the environment; from the hills of Malibu to the shores of Lake Michigan, each landscape leaves a quiet imprint on her work. After nearly thirteen years in California and extended periods living and exhibiting in Japan and Korea, she now lives and works in Traverse City.
